PEANUT CREAMS & OYSTERS

Once a year in September, we make these classic confections to pay tribute to our 100-year history. Why September? Back in the day, Peanut Creams and Oysters were made just in time to bring to the state fair in Bloomsburg, PA which typically began in early Fall. Why are they called Oysters? While we're not exactly sure, we do know that in the Victorian Era when Purity first started, there were candy shops and oyster houses on every corner. Perhaps our founders made a candy to reflect the times?
